At the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show, Ford showcased several trim levels of the much-anticipated Ford Endeavour (Everest), including the top-spec Platinum with a V6 engine. However, it was the Ford Endeavour Wildtrak Off-road version that stole the spotlight especially in its stunning matte-black finish. This edition is specifically designed for the off-road enthusiast offering a more hardcore experience than the standard Wildtrak variant.

Enhanced Off-road Capabilities

The Ford Endeavour Wildtrak Off-road version comes equipped with a robust metallic off-road bumper, significantly improving the vehicle's approach angle for tackling challenging terrains. This feature is coupled with an integrated bull bar and an LED auxiliary light for enhanced functionality and style. The vehicle rides on the same 20-inch wheels as the standard Wildtrak but is outfitted with BFGoodrich off-road tires for superior off-road performance.

Anticipated Launch in India

Ford is considering the introduction of the Endeavour in the Indian market and potentially re-establishing its manufacturing presence in the country. The Chennai plant might serve as a strategic export hub due to its proximity to ASEAN nations. The Endeavour SUV, particularly the base Trend trim, has been imported to India for feasibility analysis, hinting at a possible launch.

Expected Features and Powertrains

The top-spec Platinum trim of the Endeavour is expected to offer a plethora of features, including bi-projector LED headlights, Ford signature grill, 20-inch alloy wheels, integrated side steps, and an ADAS suite. Inside, the SUV is likely to feature a 12-inch portrait-style infotainment system, Ford’s SYNC 4A system, a fully digital instrument cluster, multi-zone climate control, and an electric tailgate release. While the V6 motor available in global markets may not make it to India, the 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine, capable of producing 210 PS and 500 Nm, is a probable contender for the Indian variant.

The Ford Endeavour Wildtrak Off-road version in matte black is a testament to Ford's commitment to offering vehicles that cater to the needs of off-road enthusiasts. With its enhanced features and capabilities, it is eagerly anticipated by the Indian market, where it will face competition from the likes of the MG Gloster facelift, Toyota Fortuner, and Isuzu MU-X.
