Exciting News: Maruti eVX Electric SUV Spotted Next to S-Cross – Launch Set for 2025

Introduction

In a development that's set to shake up the automotive scene, Maruti is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated electric SUV the Maruti eVX in 2025. The latest sighting of the eVX next to the S-Cross during a recharge session in India has generated significant buzz. Despite being veiled in camouflage, the distinct and robust sporty profile of the eVX is unmistakable.

Unveiled at 2023 Auto Expo: Maruti eVX – Maruti’s First Fully Electric Model

The stage was set earlier this year at the 2023 Auto Expo, where Maruti proudly unveiled the eVX, marking its foray into the fully electric vehicle market. Collaborating with Toyota, the eVX is poised to be a trendsetter, with Toyota planning to introduce its version based on the same platform in 2025. The eVX is positioned to compete with well-known electric SUVs including the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Creta EV, and Seltos EV.

Sneak Peek at Charging Station: First Glimpse of Maruti eVX in Action

Adding to the excitement, the eVX was recently spotted at a charging station in India, offering enthusiasts a first glimpse of the electric SUV in action. As the eVX is built from the ground up, it is currently undergoing rigorous testing, with this sighting providing a sneak preview of its dominating street presence. The camouflage, though heavy, doesn't completely conceal the bold front fascia, large alloy wheels, sloping roofline, and rugged rear profile.

Futuristic Interior Design: Minimalism Meets Technology in Maruti eVX

Venturing inside, the eVX boasts a futuristic interior design that seamlessly blends minimalism with cutting-edge technology. Say goodbye to physical buttons as the eVX embraces capacitive touch controls. The cabin features a large panoramic touchscreen, housing both the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The trendy dashboard design, vertically positioned AC vents, a two-spoke steering wheel, and a prominent center console contribute to an immersive driving experience, further enhanced by customizable mood lights.

Powerful Performance Goals: Maruti eVX Aims for the Best

Performance is a key focus for Maruti with the eVX, positioning it to be a leader in its class. Underpinned by a modified version of Toyota's electric skateboard architecture, the eVX, in its concept form, showcased a 60-kWh battery pack with an impressive range of 550 km. While the production version may feature a slightly smaller 48 kWh battery, the real-world range is projected to be around 400 km. Premium features, including a rotary drive mode selector, a 360° surround view camera, a minimum of six airbags, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), are anticipated.

Affordability and Global Reach: Maruti eVX’s Pricing Strategy and Export Plans

Maruti's commitment to affordability is evident in its strategy for the eVX. By emphasizing a high level of localization, encompassing the motor and battery pack, at their Gujarat plant, Maruti aims to keep the electric SUV within an accessible price range of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 22 lakh. With the electric car revolution gaining momentum in Europe, Maruti intends to export the eVX well beyond its domestic market. The export strategies, which will target a number of foreign markets, are anticipated to launch gradually. Maruti's bold step towards an electrified and sustainable vehicle future is embodied in this move.
