Maruti Suzuki is advancing its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with the upcoming introduction of its first battery electric vehicle, the eVX, tailored for the Indian market. Having garnered attention at various global showcases including the Bharat Mobility Expo in February, the eVX continues to undergo testing with recent spy shots offering a sneak peek into its interior features.

Interior Design and Features

According to the most recent pictures, the Maruti eVX sports a contemporary interior that is typical of electric cars and emphasizes functionality and space. One notable improvement is the floating center console which not only enhances the appearance but also provides more storage underneath. This configuration adds to the ergonomic design with a center armrest and a rotary knob for drive selection. The cabin boasts a free-standing infotainment screen, a digital instrument panel, and a newly designed D-cut steering wheel equipped with media controls. Complementing the sleek interior is the black and brown seat upholstery, adding a touch of elegance and comfort.

Advanced Technology and Comfort

The eVX is expected to be packed with advanced features to enhance both comfort and connectivity. Possible features include powered and ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a high-end sound system. For connectivity, wireless smartphone integration will be standard along with a 360-degree surround camera system and a head-up display. In order to ensure the safety and comfort of the driver and passengers the SUV is also expected to come equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite.

Performance and Launch Expectations

As for performance, the eVX is anticipated to be equipped with a 60kWh battery pack, aiming for a competitive driving range of over 500km on a single charge, matching the expected capabilities of upcoming rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Curvv EV, and Harrier EV. Maruti Suzuki plans to officially launch the eVX sometime in 2025 positioning it as a significant player in India's rapidly growing electric vehicle market.
