Toyota Yaris is one of the cars in the brand’s portfolio which is being highly affected by the slowdown in the auto industry to such an extent that the sedan has started posting very low monthly sales figures. For example, in July 2019, the car registered a sales figure of only 51 units. Toyota Yaris competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid, and the Hyundai Verna.
To boost its sales figure, the company has launched the updated model of the Yaris sedan in the Indian market. The car comes featured with a new dual-tone colour scheme along a black contrasting roof. The car also gets a set of new diamond-cut alloy wheels. The updated model of the Yaris also gets sporty accents on front and rear. These new exterior features make the car look more attractive than before.
The V (O) is the sole variant available with the dual-tone paint shades and comes priced at INR 11.97 lakh for manual and INR 13.17 lakh for the CVT model. The V (O) variant also gets new diamond-cut alloy wheels, leatherette seats and a black finish for the grille and wing mirrors.
The new variant is placed between the existing V and VX trims. The J (O) and G (O) variants are positioned below the existing J and G trim levels respectively. In terms of equipment, the only difference is in the number of airbags, where the standard J and G trims get seven airbags as standard, the J (O) and G (O) trims get three airbags.
Mechanically, the engine specifications for the Toyota Yaris remain unchanged. It comes with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that offers 107HP of maximum power along 140Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with an option for a CVT gearbox. Here is the variant-wise ex-showroom price list of the updated model of the Toyota Yaris.
