All set to be launched on August 21, 2019, the official sketches of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 have been released by the brand. Based on the new model of the Ertiga MPV, the new XL6 will be sold via Maruti’s NEXA chain of showrooms. The brand has taken most of the styling bits from the Ertiga for their new XL6 crossover though, the recent sketches do clarify a host of differences between the two. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 features a more upright nose at the front in addition to having a flatter hood. The front fascia of the upcoming car also features an all-new trapezoidal grille mated to chrome inserts at the centre. The XL6 features LED headlights while the chunkier design elements below the headlight setup make it stand apart from the Ertiga. The upcoming MPV from the brand gets slightly raised height when compared to the Ertiga though the tail lamps and tailgate remains the same. In addition to this, the XL6 gets body cladding across the wheel arches, rear panel as well as the side panels. The brand has opted for an all-black interior for their upcoming product. Maruti will be equipping the XL6 with its new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system as well as adjustable driver’s seat. One can also expect a dual-tone colour scheme for the upcoming MPV in addition to the blackened alloy wheels. The top-spec variants of the XL6 are likely to get premium components in addition to cruise control, leather seats and a reverse camera. Maruti Suzuki will be debuting the XL6 with their BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine, which will be further mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The bookings for the upcoming XL6 have been commenced across several dealerships with a token amount of INR 25,000 though the brand is yet to start the bookings officially.
