Mahindra Thar Wanderlust Launched in India: A report in the automotive industry claims that Thar Wanderlust Edition is priced at INR 22.91 lakh (ex-showroom). It was first seen at Auto Expo 2018 and comes with luxury wrapped off-road experience for die hard Thar fans who are willing to spend this huge amount.
This number includes ex-showroom price of brand new top spec 4x4 Thar with powerful CRDe engine. The custom kit is priced at INR 13.80 lakh and at present the ex-showroom price of Thar CRDe in Delhi is INR 9.11 Lakh. It can be compared with Thar Daybreak Edition from some aspects but Mahindra is using different set of components for that unique feel.
Thar Wanderlust Edition comes with 35 inch off-road tyres which are smaller than 37 inch units from Daybreak Edition. They are using stock suspension setup here but one can get an optional life kit for ease of use during rocky terrain.
Buyers are offered with Matt Electric Blue paint scheme with beige finished interior and black highlights. When a buyer spends such huge amount, expectations are generally on the higher side. Thar Wanderlust comes with leather wrapped steering wheel and door panels, brown dashboard highlights and sporty yet comfortable seats.
Door open in the standard manner while rear side panels are lifted upwards like wings whenever the owner requires to do so. A full size spare wheel is mounted on the back. They even offer an electric sunroof and silver roof rails for added practicality and road presence.
Touchscreen infotainment system with Android OS and navigation further makes it easy to discover new roads on Thar Wanderlust. Mood lighting and head-up display completes the package in the most elegant possible manner. Thar is powered by a 2.5L, four cylinder diesel engine producing 105 BHP and 247 Nm in its top spec, power steering equipped variant.
