2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Launched in India: The 2020 model of Land Rover Discovery Sport has been launched in India with a starting price tag of INR 57.06 lakh for the base S model while the top model (R-Dynamic SE) is priced at INR 60.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
As of now, the 2020 model of the SUV will only be available in diesel while the petrol variants are expected to launch in the coming months. Coming to the looks, the new 2020 Discovery Sport gets a sharper design language in comparison to the last-gen model.
The grille of the SUV remains unchanged but it is now all-black and flanked by a sleeker set of LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps. The bumper of the car looks new probably because of its vertically positioned air intakes with muscular lines. The black wheel arch claddings have also been replaced by the body-coloured panels and it also gets new alloy wheels.
Coming to the rear portion of the car, the 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport gets significant updates. It now features new LED tail lamps with clear glass and black detailing which are connected to a black panel that has a number plate housing the Land Rover moniker.
In terms of colours, the 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport gets a new Red-Black dual-tone paint scheme. Mechanically, the SUV gets a set of new BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system that churns out 245HP of maximum power along 365Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant, on the other hand, is good for 177HP of power with 430Nm of torque. The engines come paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The interiors of the SUV continue to feature the same layout as the previous model but it gets a redesigned dashboard along with a new centre console. The 10-inch touch-pro infotainment system on the vehicle is available as standard. The SUV gets 4G Wifi hotspot, an updated Land Rover InControl Touch Pro infotainment that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
