Hyundai Alcazar India Launch Postponed: As per a recent media report, Hyundai has postponed the launch of the Alcazar (the bigger version of Creta) due to the sudden rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in India. Earlier, the SUV was supposed to launch on April 29, 2021, but as per the latest details available, the official launch has now been pushed to the last week of May. In comparison to Creta, Hyundai has increased the wheelbase of the new SUV by 150mm, and it now stands at 2,760mm. Talking about the rest of the dimensions, Hyundai Alcazar measures 4,330mm in length, 1,790mm in width, while the fuel tank capacity stands at 50-liters. If we talk about pricing, the upcoming car is expected to get an ex-showroom price range of around INR 11-19 lakhs. The petrol engine is good for a maximum power of 159HP and a peak torque of 192Nm, while the diesel engine is good for 115HP and 250Nm. Both the engine options would be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Talking about the looks, the brand has equipped the Alcazar SUV with a different front grille, a slightly updated headlight section, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, more upright roofline and tailgate, a new front bumper, and an all-new rear end section to differentiate the car from the current-gen Hyundai Creta, which is a 5-seater SUV. In addition to this, the floating roof design in the Alcazar also remains similar when compared to the Creta.
