As per one of the recent updates, Honda has commenced the production of the new City sedan at its plant in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The new model of the car is all set to be launched in the Indian market next month. In terms of pricing, one can expect the new City Sedan to get a starting ex-showroom price tag of around INR 10 lakhs. The updated model of the car will compete in the market with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the Skoda Rapid.

Mechanically, the car will be available with two BS6-compliant engine options. The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine will be good for a maximum power of 121 HP @ 6,600 rpm and peak torque of 145 Nm @ 4,300 rpm. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox along with an optional 7-speed CVT unit.
The second engine option will be a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit, which will generate a maximum power of 100 HP @ 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. The diesel engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. For now, Honda is not offering the new City in a diesel-automatic configuration.
