GMC HUMMER EV Official Unveiling Delayed: As we reported earlier, General Motors Company (GMC), the very famous American automobile manufacturer is bringing back the Hummer SUV with an electric powertrain. The all-new electric vehicle from the brand with a resurrected name was expected to be unveiled on May 20, 2020, but as per the details available, the unveiling event has been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The brand has not revealed the new unveiling date yet.
According to the official videos released by GMC on YouTube, the upcoming HUMMER EV will be equipped with an all-electric powertrain capable of offering zero emissions. The brand considers the upcoming HUMMER to have zero limits while the videos suggest it to accelerate from 0-60mph (97kmph) in just 3 seconds. In addition to this, the resurrected truck will be capable of offering maximum power of 1000HP while the maximum torque stands at 11,500 lb-ft (15,592Nm).

There has been no other information revealed by the brand regarding the specifications of their upcoming HUMMER EV though they have confirmed the production of the electric SUV to take place at their Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant in Michigan.
The brand has recently revealed its plan to invest a whopping $2.2 billion towards its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant to manufacture a host of electric vehicles, trucks and SUVs. Apart from this, the brand will invest another $800 million towards the tool supply as well as exporting of the premium features necessary for the manufacturing.
Commenting on how powerful the HUMMER EV is going to be, Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC, said “GMC builds premium and capable trucks and SUVs and the GMC HUMMER EV takes this to new heights,” said in a statement.
