Datsun Cross has been launched in Indonesia for IDR 163 million (INR 7.28 lakh approx). The event took place at Jakarta, Indonesia. Before the official unveil, Datsun came forward with a teaser image that shows the aggressive front fascia with LED daytime running lights, projector headlights and separately placed round fog lights. The grill feels perfect for this height while lower section is covered with thick black highlights for a perfect crossover feel. Thick bonnet crease flaunts a bold front end for Datsun Cross. As the word compact is associated with this crossover, Datsun has kept its overall length under 4 meter. No Datsun car for India is equipped with a projector headlight option till date. Keeping cost under check, Datsun is using most of the body panels from Go+. Not just that, Datsun Cross features a rear roof spoiler and almost 30 kg of roof rack luggage capacity. Making it a seven seater like Datsun Go+ has reduced the amount of space in the first two rows but still, no other brand is offering such a product around this price point. Datsun is using an all black interior that carries a modified dashboard for touchscreen infotainment system. The engine powering the car is one familiar 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol motor producing 68 HP and 104 Nm of torque. The engine produces 10 PS more for the CVT variant. The engine will use a 5-speed manual gearbox for India. ABS, EBD and brake assist are standard while 200mm of ground clearance makes it a good option for tough roads. It will launch sometime in the mid of 2018 in India. Article image
