As per the latest reports, Yamaha is all set to launch a new product in the Indian market on December 19, 2019. The brand has sent out "Block Your Date" invites to the media for its official press conference for the launch event though, the invite doesn’t specify any details on the upcoming product.
It is hard to say whether the new product will be a motorcycle or a scooter update or something new altogether. The press conference will be taking place in Chennai where the brand will finally put a stop to the speculations.
According to the ongoing buzz, one can expect a host of offerings from the brand at the launch event while the highest guesses for the new product goes out to the 2020 Yamaha YZF-R3, which is expected to launch in India since long.
The brand is expected to offer various updated bits to the 2020 model of the R3 sportbike while Yamaha has finally resumed the bookings for the current-gen version, which were put on a halt from the past two months. Certain reports also suggest that Yamaha might unveil its BS6-compliant range at the upcoming launch event but as of now, there is no confirmation on the same.
Apart from this, the launch event could also see the unveiling of the 2020 Yamaha Fascino since the scooter has been spotted testing on the roads multiple times. The updated scooter is expected to feature a BS6-compliant engine in addition to featuring a host of cosmetic updates and a new body design.
Another one of the wildest guesses for the new product is that the brand may launch the all-new Yamaha XSR155 but the chances of the sports heritage model remain rather thin.
If the speculations turn out to be true, the brand is expected to launch a slightly tweaked variant of the XSR155 in the Indian market, which will feature a BS6-compliant engine and conventional telescopic forks in place of the USD forks. In addition to this, like the international-spec model, the XSR155 will come with a full-LED headlamp setup and an all-digital instrument panel.
The last probability is that Yamaha could launch an all-new product, which will be a surprise for the audience. We have to sit back and wait till December 19 to know more about the “Block Your date” event for the launch of the new product in India.
