UM Renegade Thor has been officially launched in India at INR 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the next big thing that UM fans witnessed recently at Auto Expo 2018. When most manufacturers were betting big on electric scooters, UM took the different way and introduced a premium cruiser that runs on green energy.
For those who think this is not a good idea, think about an all new platform with 30kW motor, resulting in 70 Nm of torque production and that too with eco friendly fun guarantee. Renegade Thor will come with 270 km of driving range and takes around 40 minutes to charge the battery from zero to 80% through a fast charger.

Auto Expo 2018 is a great platform and they have used it well for this launch event. All this won’t come easy as buyers have quite interesting options available around this price tag and thus, branding Thor in an effective way is a necessity.
This also limits the number of buyers and thus, one can expect Harley-Davidson and Kawasaki buyers moving into this direction. They are using 120mm front and 150mm rear tyre combination with ABS equipped disc brakes at both ends.

UM Renegade Commando and Sport S were expected to perform better than their current status. UM has widened its approach with more dealerships as buyers in almost all major cities now have access to their products with ease.
It was still expected to bring bigger numbers and that could now only be possible through their new model named Duty 230. Renegade Sport S was their most inexpensive model with a price tag of INR 1.64 lakh while now this tag goes to Duty 230 S at INR 1.11 lakh.
First 50 buyers of UM Thor will get their delivery at UM’s plant in Italy. A two year free charging program for buyers will also start across all dealerships in India.
