310cc TVS Streetfighter in the Making: A new TVS-BMW motorcycle is on the cards and this time, the news comes out of the words of TVS Motor President & CEO, KN Radhakrishnan, who himself recently confirmed that the partnership will soon see a new product. The technical collaboration has already resulted in three products, with two falling on the BMW side and one staying in the vast and cheerful TVS lineup.
The definition for the body type of next product is not yet out but, one can safely assume that being a TVS product, it will most probably be a 310cc streetfighter, the naked version of the Apache RR 310. The launch of the upcoming product is not expected to happen at the Auto Expo 2020 as that slot will most probably be reserved for the much-awaited and highly-celebrated 220cc Zeppelin cruiser motorcycle. This means that TVS Motor will most probably launch the upcoming 310cc street motorcycle in India by the end of this year.

The new TVS-BMW motorcycle is expected to be based on the BMW G310R, which may seem like a slow-performing option in India but, proved itself as an instant hit in the other countries. The 310cc TVS streetfighter will feature a relaxed handlebar for sure, and the upcoming motorcycle is expected to be more comfortable to ride in comparison to the Apache RR 310. After the launch in India, the street bike will compete with the likes of Honda CB300R, Bajaj Dominar 400, and the KTM 390 Duke.
The single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine from the BMW-TVS motorcycle lineup is good for 34 HP of maximum power. The construction of the engine is lightweight while the output is quite satisfactory for a motorcycle that weighs considerably under the segment average for sure. The upcoming 310cc TVS streetfighter is expected to carry an ex-showroom price tag of under INR 2 lakh for easy buying appeal.

KN Radhakrishnan, President, CEO & Additional Whole-Time Director, TVS Motor Company, said, “Both the BMW products are doing extremely well, and the market acceptance of these products are very good. Now [our recent] product is also doing well. We are coming up with another model. Closer to launch there, [we can share] what exactly is the model."
