Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 will serve as the base for Gixxer 250, the naked version of the famed quarter-litre machine. The brand has officially announced that they will be launching the model in India before the festive season.
It will help Suzuki to have two India-specific 250cc models for the premium motorcycle segment that gained momentum after the launch of products like Yamaha FZ25, KTM 390 Duke, Honda CB300R, BMW G310R, TVS Apache RR 310, and the Bajaj Dominar 400.
Suzuki recently launched the full-faired SF 250 with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.71 lakh. The first and most important part for the development of the 250cc streetfighter will be the cost. Suzuki will try its best to undercut the price of the SF 250 by at least INR 15,000 or even more.

The launch of Yamaha MT-15 shocked everyone as the price gap was negligible between R15 V3 and MT-15. However, the launch of Gixxer 250 would be a different affair as Suzuki is expected to retain the same headlight from the current-gen model and bring something close to the international-spec GSX-S150 in terms of the front headlight design.
The street machine will feature the same 249cc, single cylinder oil-cooled engine, producing 26.5 HP of maximum power and 22.6 Nm of maximum torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The loss of weight from the fairing will help the naked version with better acceleration while the impressive stance of the motorcycle through the use of 150-section rear tire will stay intact.

The Rear End of the Gixxer 250 Will Remain Identical to the SF 250[/caption]
Like the full-faired SF 250, the Gixxer 250 will also come equipped with a dual-channel ABS unit instead of the single channel option as seen on the 150cc models. The brand will also update the 150cc Gixxer street motorcycle but, the timeframe for the introduction has not been mentioned yet.
Suzuki is staying tight-lipped for the Intruder series at present but reports once surfaced that the cruiser motorcycle will get a major update next year. With the present pricing of all Suzuki products, only the Gixxer 155 can be purchased under a price tag of INR 1 lakh. Once it receives the expected design and component update, it would be impossible to buy a Suzuki motorcycle under INR 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
