Lambretta has planned the Indian entry for Auto Expo 2020, showcasing their Electric prototype at the event. They have not yet mentioned the launch period for their first product but most probably, it will be the conventional scooter named Super Lambretta. The engine size has not yet been mentioned for the product but the brand has cleared the fact that it will be priced at a premium point. The Vespa scooters are known for their premium placement and it seems like Lambretta will leave them behind with bigger engine sizes and more luxury on offer than ever through their products. New Lambretta Scooter Lohia Auto and Bird Group will partner the efforts of Lambretta in India. They are looking for a suitable space to begin production in Maharashtra and once ready, the facility will serve as a base for local as well as export-spec production. If the brand plans to export these scooters to the European market, they can save a lot of money that goes into expensive production in Italy. The brand originated in 1947 and till date, carry the same design lines as seen on their vintage scooters. The brand presence of Lambretta varies by different markets and production in India can help them expand with much ease. Lambretta V200 Special Lambretta V200 is the most expected product from the brand, bringing 168.9cc engine for a total output of 12 HP and 12.5 Nm. The electric version will be coming later with more eco-friendly performance and no direct rival. The use of premium components on the Lambretta scooters make them highly desirable for buyers who need an ageless machine for their daily commute. The front tire on this scooter measures 110mm while the rear is a 120mm tire, wrapped on 12-inch aluminium alloy wheels. The 134 kg of weight makes the scooter a great option for city use.
