KTM 125 Duke registered 2414 units in the sales chart of December 2018. The number seems definitely healthy for a bike priced at INR 1.18 lakh and carrying a 125cc engine. The most affordable motorcycle in the Duke lineup, KTM 125 Duke is powered by a 124.7cc, single cylinder engine. The overall output is quite amazing at 14.5 HP and 12 Nm. The launch of Duke 125 started a new era in the Indian motorcycling history where manufacturers focus generally on bigger engines (like 160 instead of 150). The 125cc engine is not just good on emissions, but also saves some fuel in comparison to the 200cc model. Also, the weight for both the bikes is identical. KTM 125 Duke has no direct rival in India and one can compare the same with nearby streetfighters like Bajaj NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200. The power output of KTM 125 Duke is even higher in comparison to the regular 150cc streetfighters of India. The effect of Duke 125’s introduction is clearly seen on the other bikes as 200cc Duke and RC were good for just 925 units in the month of December 2018.
