As per the recent reports, KTM 790 Adventure is all set to be launched in India in 2020. Based on the underpinnings of the recently-launched Duke 790, the upcoming adventure motorcycle will get a BS6-compliant engine for the Indian market. The brand has launched the 790 Duke in the Indian market at a price tag of INR 8.64 lakh while the 790 Adventure is expected to get a slightly higher price tag than its 790cc streetfighter version.
The brand offers the KTM Duke 790 in the European markets at a price tag of £8,799 (Rs 8.02 lakh approx) while the 790 Adventure is priced at £11,099 (Rs 10.12 lakh approx). Since the brand is expected to bring the adventure motorcycle via the CKD route with minimal localisation, one can expect the brand to price it on the higher side. The international markets have a 25% difference in the prices of both the motorcycles, the same trend will allow the brand to price the 790 Adventure at an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 10.80 lakh in India.
In addition to launching the standard KTM 790 Adventure, the brand is also expected to launch the R variant in the Indian market. The R variant of the motorcycle will feature a premium adjustable suspension with better wheel travel.
Coming to the engine specifications, the 790 Aventure is powered by a 799cc, parallel-twin engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 94HP and a peak torque of 88Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The brand has equipped both the variants of the adventure motorcycle with a 21-inch front wheel in addition to offering a disc brake setup at either side. The standard variant of the motorcycle has been equipped with 43mm USD forks at the front while the “R” variant features the 48mm WP XPLOR front forks. The motorcycle gets a fuel tank capacity of 20 litres while the ground clearance stands at 233mm.
