Honda Bikes at Auto Expo 2018:  Honda India is expected to gain its lost lightweight superbike glory back at Auto Expo 2018. They have this as their last chance or fans will be heard talking about other brands when considering something INR 1 lakh onward. They can only justify the placement of CBR1000RR at INR 16.80 lakh while all other products are slightly out of their segment. Even the CBR650F demands rational pricing while die hard fans are expecting too much from them this year. Apart from CBR250R, both others have a lot of scope as upcoming Yamaha R15 V3 and recently launched TVS Apache RR 310 are in desperate need of rivals. Regaining their position will not be as easy as before for Honda. Kawasaki is planning something big and Ninja 400 will certainly rock this segment by claiming back the most powerful bike title under 400cc. Honda has this perfect moment to bring CBR400R and show them some real competition. If Kawasaki is planning for Ninja 250, they can counter the same by CBR250RR. All in all, Honda has every product that other manufacturers could think but still they lack the urge to launch each possible segment in India like Kawasaki. Honda CBR1000RR is the most impressive product around its price while performance of CBR650F makes it better than any other product in that segment. The latter fails with high pricing due to its import route. Honda is India’s second largest selling brand by volume and they are presently enjoying profits that come through high volume sales of affordable products. If they miss this opportunity to flaunt some muscle, Indian performance bike buyers may leave them exclusive to the commuter buyers for sure. Kawasaki is India’s highest selling sport bike brand while Harley Davidson sells twice in number and wins in terms of cruiser sales.
