According to a recent report by IAB, the BS6 Hero Splendor iSmart dealership dispatches have been commenced by the brand though, the official specifications of the updated motorcycle are yet to be revealed officially. The recently leaked document of the BS6 Hero Splendor iSmart reveals the performance figures as well as other important features. Designed and developed at Hero MotoCorp’s Center of Innovation and Technology (CIT) situated in Rajasthan, the next-gen Splendor is expected to hit the Indian market in the coming weeks. Article image According to the leaked document, powering the updated Splendor motorcycle is a 113.2cc, BS6, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 9.15HP at 7,500 rpm. The engine now features fuel injection technology in addition to getting an idle stop and start feature. When compared to the BS4-compliant 109.15cc carburetted engine offered on the current-gen Splendor that is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 9.50HP, the updated Splendor variant offers a slight decrease in the power by 0.35HP. The customers can avail the upcoming Hero Splendor iSmart in two variants namely: front drum and front disc. Due to the addition of a front disc brake, the top-spec variant of the motorcycle weighs 1kg heavier when compared to the drum brake variant in addition to getting 10mm of extra width. The Hero Splendor iSmart disc brake variant gets a gross vehicle weight of 247kgs while the gross vehicle weight of the drum brake variant stands at 246kgs. Coming to the price range, considering the BS6-compliant engine equipped on the motorcycle, one can expect it to bear a premium of INR 5,000 to INR 7,000 over the present-gen variant, which is available in the market at a starting price tag of INR 56,280 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
