Benelli is all set to grace the Indian market with their Imperiale 400 cruiser, which has been designed specifically for competing with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350, and the new Jawa motorcycles. As per a recent report, Benelli will reportedly keep the price tag for the Imperiale 400 under INR 2 lakh (ex-showroom) in order to make it available to a larger segment of the audience and get a competitive lead. Article image The brand after its split from the DSK Motowheels has been constantly focusing on rebuilding its power in the automobile market, thus, justifying the launch of its new series of motorcycles in India. Benelli recently relaunched the TNT 300, 302R, and the TNT 600i in India. The company has also launched the much-awaited Leoncino 500, TRK 502, and the TRK 502X in the Indian market. In addition to these, Benelli is also planning to launch 150cc-250cc scooters in the near future. In order to increase its reach, the company is also working very actively on opening new dealerships and service centres in the Indian market. Article image Commenting on the launch of Imperiale 400, Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director of Benelli India stated: “We will be launching Imperiale 380cc to 400cc bikes either by the fourth quarter of the calendar year 2019 or the first quarter of 2020”. In addition to this, he also commented: “With this, we will take on Royal Enfield in the same segment.” Article image Taking the pioneer like Royal Enfield under the list of its greatest competitors, the Imperiale 400 cruiser gets a 373.5cc single-cylinder engine, capable of churning out a maximum power of 20HP and an utmost torque of 28Nm while the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is powered by a 346cc single-cylinder engine that is good for 19.8HP of power and 28Nm of torque. The Benelli Imperiale 400 is also expected to get the same wheel specifications as that of the Royal Enfield Classic, with almost similar kerb weight.
