The hopes for Bajaj Pulsar RS400 were reignited with the launch of Dominar 400 in India. Firstly, Bajaj is using the powerful 373.3 cc motor from the Austrian bike maker KTM and not just that, it has presented the same in a totally different state of tune. This increases the possibility of an even better machine in the future, most probably carrying the 400 moniker under the RS series of Pulsar range. Here is all what we know so far about the Pulsar RS400.

Bajaj Pulsar RS400 to be based on Dominar 400

Bajaj unveiled both the concepts at 2014 Auto Expo and one of them became road legal with the name Dominar 400 (Pulsar CS400) in India. The second one was named Pulsar SS400 and may get a production name change to RS400. The most happening reason for the same is the introduction of RS200, a smaller capacity motorcycle in India. It shares the design elements with the SS400 concept, hinting at a possible launch of RS400 in the coming days. Secondly, it is even said that the motorcycle is ready in the production state and once, a spyshot with the same moniker was taken somewhere in India only. This makes things more interesting as the flagship Pulsar would be the most powerful Pulsar ever made and may use the Dominar 400's frame for better power handling. Not just that, it could carry a 40+ BHP of power and 35 NM of torque, both to be delivered at higher RPM levels in comparison to the Dominar 400.

It is also believed that the RS400 will be priced on the higher side of Dominar 400, claiming a price tag of around INR 1.55-1.60 lakh for its non-ABS version. RS400 is expected to be equipped with all-digital instrument console and dual-channel ABS from the Dominar 400. Bajaj Dominar is actually a different stage product for India while the RS400 could be an arch rival to the 2017 RC 390 from the KTM lineup. It would be the most powerful Pulsar of all time and fans in India are actually waiting for such a model in the Bajaj lineup very soon.
