Aprilia has unveiled its latest limited edition model, the RS660 Extrema. When compared to the standard model, it receives a slew of updates to boost its performance quotient.

The design language of the standard model has been carried over to the RS660 Extrema. It does include a new seat cowl and an anodized aluminium bracket for removing the rear footpegs. In this edition, the RS660 Extrema also has a more unique paint scheme. Carbon fibre is also used for the belly pan and front fender.

The same 659cc parallel twin liquid-cooled motor powers the limited edition Aprilia supersport. This engine has a max output of 100 bhp and a peak torque of 66.5 Nm. It is coupled to a six-speed transmission, and the updated software allows the rider to programme the transmission for race shift. The Noale company has also used a new street-legal exhaust from SC-Project to reduce weight.

The Aprilia RS660 Extrema receives the same equipment as the standard model. Traction control, engine brake control, wheelie control, engine mapping, and riding modes are all available. The six-axis IMU controls all these features.

Aprilia has not yet revealed the total number of units or pricing. But it will be more expensive than the standard model. Aprilia RS660 is most likely limited to the international market.
