Hyundai's Bayon, a mini SUV targeted at global markets, has undergone significant updates for the 2025 model year, focusing on design enhancements, connectivity improvements, safety features, and interior upgrades. Positioned below prominent models like the Kona, Tucson, Santa Fe, and Nexo in Hyundai's global lineup, the Bayon caters to the compact SUV segment, primarily in Europe. However, Hyundai has clarified that there are currently no plans to introduce the Bayon in India.

Familiar Yet Refreshed Design

The latest iteration of the Bayon adopts Hyundai's modern design language, tailored for the small SUV segment. Specifically designed for the European market, it showcases a horizontal light signature, reminiscent of Verna's daytime running lights (DRLs), integrated into a newly designed front end. Changes to the front bumper and radiator grille contribute to a refreshed appearance while the rear features a redesigned bumper and newly crafted 16 and 17-inch wheels enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal.

Inside the cabin, the Bayon receives notable updates to its technology and convenience features. These include Over-the-Air (OTA) map updates, a larger 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster paired with a separate 10.25-inch infotainment display, and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional features include two USB-C connections for improved communication Hyundai's most recent Bluelink telemetry system, and a wireless charging pad. Furthermore, the Bayon now features LED technology for interior lighting including optional LED room/map and sunvisor lamps, along with the option for multicolor front ambient lighting.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Feature

The 2025 Bayon debuts several advanced safety features aimed at enhancing driver assistance and collision avoidance. Notable additions include Lane Following Assist (LFA) and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) which can detect vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists and apply brakes if necessary to prevent collisions. Additionally, the system has Junction Turning which is intended to stop cars from colliding with oncoming traffic when turning an intersection. Navigation-based Cruise Control (NSCC) utilizes navigation data to autonomously adjust speed on highways and expressways. Lead Vehicle Departure Alert, Driver Attention Warning, and Blind Spot Collision Avoidance are additional ADAS capabilities.

No Plans for India

While the Bayon receives significant updates for global markets, Hyundai has confirmed that there are no immediate plans to introduce it in India. The company's current SUV lineup in the nation which includes well-known models like the Venue, Creta, Alcazar, and Tucson provides a wide range of choices to meet the needs of various market niches and consumer preferences.
