Why the handle of TVS Apache RTR 180 shakes @ 60-70 kmph?
02 January 2023 06:32
The TVS Apache RTR 180 can ride smoothly at 100 kmph and it is not the nature of Apache as it is a reliable machine. The reason for the same can be excessive air in the front wheel, which makes the tyre more inflated than required, which results in lesser traction. If this is not the error, you can check your wheel for certain damage, which inturn effects the rotation of the wheel. If the tyre is all correct you should check whether the screws tightening the handlebar are tightened and the seals holding the handlebar are fixed. At last you should check whether both the telescopic forks are filled with equal oil as leaking of the oil from one side effects the stability of the bike.

Hi, to answer your question we have to learn a little basics about the science of vibrations- So, here we go- Every body in the universe has a natural frequency of vibration. Natural frequency is the frequency at which a body can vibrate freely. Now in the running engine, piston is moving to and fro in the cylinder, which in a way is providing a vibrating force. Now in the case of Apache this vibrating force matches with the bikes natural frequency in between 4000 & 6000 RPM. Therefore the bike starts vibrating freely, but when the RPM falls below 4000 or rises above 6000 it doesn’t matches with the bikes natural frequency, so the vibrations disappear. The bike vibrate in any great when the frequency is matched. In the fifth gear the corresponding speed is 50-80 km per hour. The vibrations can be smoothened up while designing the engine by adding balancing weights and a balancer shaft in the engine, but it increases the friction and weight, there by reducing the throttle response and economy, therefore TVS engineers have not included them, the result is superb performance and good fuel economy (my Apache RTR 180 returns mileage of 55 to 60kmpl, trust me). The remedy – As wear resistant additive in the engine oil occasionally and stay out of 4000-6000 RPM. And enjoy the smooth ride. What is the approximate mileage of TVS Apache RTR 160?
02 January 2023 06:32
First of all you have to remember that Apache is manufactured by TVS. My familiarity with TVS started when I got TVS Victor as my first bike. As I was constantly experimenting with the bike to extract more and more mileage the mileage started going up till it reached a maximum of 94km power litre. I have applied the same findings with my father's splendour but could reach only 65kmpl. Then with my advice my brother bought TVS Star City plus. My brother is getting 70kmpl. And then my father sold his splendour and started using my, I mean TVS Victor. So let's come to your question- Then I bought Apache RTR 180. And it is returning me mileage of 50 to 60kmpl. 60kmpl when I drive calmly at 40 to 60km per hour, and comes down to 50 when I am full on throttle driving at speed in excess of 110km per hour. And in between when depending on the aggressiveness of my driving. So you can guess about the mileage about Apache 160.

It comes with a 5-speed gearbox and gets optional double disc model also. The beast eye DRL's are exclusive to the Apache series and looks the best when compared with all the other segment bikes. It comes within a range of INR 72,344-74,344 and gets the most aggressive performance and running dynamics among all.

I am confused, which bike should I buy – Bajaj Pulsar RS or TVS apache 180 ABS?
02 January 2023 06:32
TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS would be a better option if you do not consider faired bikes to be better than other body types. It comes with the most practical approach in the Indian motorcycle industry, providing the most affordable double channel ABS on a motorcycle. Even the RS200 comes with single channel ABS only. It comes with a 177.4 cc engine producing 17.3 BHP @ 8500 rpm and 15.5 NM @ 6500 rpm. The gearbox is a 5-speed unit and the bike comes with a ground clearance of 165 mm. The best part comes to its weight, which comes out to be 139 kg only. The Pulsar RS200 gets a 165 kg of body weight. The RTR 180 ABS comes with a price tag of INR 87,112 whereas the lesser equipped Pulsar comes with a tag of INR 1,30,000. This makes the RTR 180 ABS a better ride over the RS200.

TVS has planned the launch of 3 new products by the end of this year, one of which for sure is the new TVS Apache RTR 200. It is said to be influenced by the Draken concept and the this time, a bigger set of tyres could be finally seen on an Apache. The RTR 200 would definitely get the ABS option and the twin disc brake availability is also for sure. Which one is better - Honda CB Unicorn 160 or TVS Apache RTR 160?
02 January 2023 06:29

Also, the RTR produces 15.2 BHP @ 8500 rpm and 13.1 NM @ 4000 rpm. It comes with a 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes for each wheel. Being 137 kg, the bike is light and much more efficient than the Unicorn 160. It comes with low maintenance and when it comes to long life, both the bikes are good at it. Which one is better - Honda CB Unicorn 160 or TVS Apache RTR 160?
02 January 2023 06:29
Choose Unicorn for low maintenance, better and widespread service network and easy availability of parts. Choose Apache for sheer performance and looks. Unicorn comes with a 'combi-brakes' variant which helps as both brakes area applied together, whether you apply one or both. Also, in this variant both are disc brakes. Apache 160 too has a dual-disc version. A pity they have limited the ABS to 180 version because that would have made a huge difference. In terms of pickup, speed and cornering, Apache is miles ahead of the Unicorn which is a commuter at heart, albeit one that can be used as a tourer over relatively shorter distances. Honda is always stellar in terms of quality and electrical, even the switchgear is great and doesn't look tacky. One thing that goes against TVS is those shitty TVS tyres. If you change those to MRF or Ceat or Bridgestone, that makes for a fantastic bike.
Which bike should I buy - TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS or Bajaj Pulsar 220F?
02 January 2023 06:29

The TVS Apache RTR ABS and Bajaj Pulsar 220F come with the same price tag, making them strict competitors with different specialties and preferences. The TVS Apache RTR should be preferred as it brings better safety and utility features than the Pulsar's bling performance scenario. RTR 180 comes with a 177.4 cc engine producing 17.03 BHP and 15.5 NM of torque. It also brings a relaxed driving position, with a lower seat height than the Pulsar. Twin-channel ABS brakes are included, which increase its responsiveness and safety in less-than-ideal driving situations. The bike comes with aggressive front DRLs and feels better to ride than the other competitor. The power feels more channelized and controllable than the Pulsar 220F.

What is the exact launch date of TVS Apache RTR 200?
02 January 2023 06:29
The TVS Apache RTR 200 has been confirmed by the company and they have marked 2 other launches with it, before January 2016. A good news for TVS lovers, the RTR 200 would be the company's flagship model and would be the most powerful RTR till date. Expected to be hard on the competitors, it is expected with the Draken inspired short stroke and more powerful engine, producing approximately 21 BHP and 18 NM of torque. The design of the bike has no ideas till date as nothing has been spotted on the name of RTR series. The bike would surely be a good one as TVS is known for its good quality offerings. It is expected to be with optional ABS and disc brake for each wheel. The gearbox will be 6-speed and performance would not be compromised for sure.
Which one is a better family bike - Old TVS Apache RTR 160 or New RTR 160?
02 January 2023 06:28
The new Apache RTR 160 is the best bike as it comes with better ride quality than the old RTR 160. The bike comes with a 159.7 cc, 1-cylinder, air cooled engine and a 5-speed gearbox. It produces 15.2 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 13.1 NM @ 4,000 rpm. The front of the bike gets a 270 mm petal disc whereas the rear gets a 200 mm petal disc. The bike is excellent when seen in terms of performance and efficient as it will take a few milliliters more than a liter of fuel to cover 50 km. It is good as a family bike as the rear seat has not been placed very high and the seat height is even kept at 790 mm. The huge 16 liter of fuel tank makes it good for 700 km stretch when full. It comes with a price tag of INR 73,800.
