Things like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are nice to have, and should be useful for years.
What kind of features and technology does the Exter have that future proof it?
02 January 2025 10:30
I'm less worried about the short term, but I'm more concerned with the long term reliability of all these electronic features. The more tech you have, the more things that can go wrong.
What kind of features and technology does the Exter have that future proof it?

Even with basic ADAS features, the Exter is a segment leader in this regard. That’s a big plus for future proofing.
Is the Blade Battery technology in the BYD Atto 3 really revolutionary?
02 January 2025 06:16
I believe the Blade Battery is the real deal. I’ve seen the safety tests and they are impressive, and my Atto 3’s range and charging speed have been great. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s a step forward for EV batteries.
Is the Blade Battery technology in the BYD Atto 3 really revolutionary?
02 January 2025 06:16
Because I'm an electrical engineer, I'm very interested in the Blade Battery design. It’s clever, not revolutionary. It's really an evolution of existing lithium iron phosphate technology. However, BYD's implementation looks good, and could spur other manufacturers to get creative.
Is the Blade Battery technology in the BYD Atto 3 really revolutionary?
02 January 2025 06:16
The Blade Battery looks promising but I'm not getting too excited until I see long term data. However, we need a few years of real world use to judge its longevity and performance. Do you remember when everyone was hyping solid state batteries? We shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.
Is the Blade Battery technology in the BYD Atto 3 really revolutionary?
02 January 2025 06:16
I like that BYD is going with safety first with the Blade Battery, whether it be revolutionary or not. Seeing those EV fire videos, it’s good to know that there’s more than enough safety to my Atto 3’s battery. Peace of mind is worth a lot.
Is the Blade Battery technology in the BYD Atto 3 really revolutionary?
02 January 2025 06:16
People are overhyping the Blade Battery, I think. It’s a good design, but other manufacturers are making some big strides in battery tech too, and Tesla’s 4680 cells and Volkswagen’s unified cell concept are both pretty impressive in their own right.
What will the XEV 9e’s battery technology and range do in India’s diverse weather?
31 December 2024 11:03
Mahindra, I think, have done their homework. With a local manufacturer, they know Indian conditions better than a foreign manufacturer and hence, the XEV 9e should cope with our climate just fine.
What will the XEV 9e’s battery technology and range do in India’s diverse weather?
31 December 2024 11:03
But the real test will be a few years later. We will see how the battery holds up after multiple Indian summers and monsoons.
What will the XEV 9e’s battery technology and range do in India’s diverse weather?
31 December 2024 11:03
The range in extreme heat is what I'm worried about. The battery life will be eaten up big time by using AC constantly.
What will the XEV 9e’s battery technology and range do in India’s diverse weather?
31 December 2024 11:03
Diverse weather is a good thing. If it goes well with the XEV 9e in India, it proves EVs can work anywhere.
What will the XEV 9e’s battery technology and range do in India’s diverse weather?
31 December 2024 11:03
Battery tech is getting better by the day. The first batch might have issues, but future updates will probably fix a lot of problems.
What will the XEV 9e’s battery technology and range do in India’s diverse weather?
31 December 2024 11:03
I wonder how it will deal with water logging during monsoons. That's a real concern for any electric vehicle in India.
What will the XEV 9e’s battery technology and range do in India’s diverse weather?
31 December 2024 11:03
Thermal management system will be the key. If Mahindra has got that right, the XEV 9e could become the standard for EV reliability in tough conditions.

Cold shouldn't be underestimated. In winter battery performance could drop significantly in places such as Ladakh.
What can we expect in terms of performance and technology when compared to international competitors for Mahindra’s electric halo car?
31 December 2024 10:28
I think Mahindra's gonna come out of this and surprise a lot of people. They've been killing it in Formula E and that experience will surely transfer over into some serious performance. And they have that Indian jugaad spirit — they might come up with some clever solutions we haven’t seen before.
What can we expect in terms of performance and technology when compared to international competitors for Mahindra’s electric halo car?
31 December 2024 10:28
Mahindra's playing catch up here, let's be real. Companies like Tesla and Porsche have been at this for years and have much more resources. Mahindra is gonna have a tough job to play in matching their level of refinement and performance.
What can we expect in terms of performance and technology when compared to international competitors for Mahindra’s electric halo car?
31 December 2024 10:28
Neither of you get it. It doesn't have to beat Tesla or Porsche to be successful. If you can get 80% of the performance for 60% of the price, that’s a win. Plus, it'll be the only car with that distinct Indian flavor that might attract some buyers.
