Will the Bullet 650 get modern features like ride modes, and traction control, like on Royal Enfield’s other models?
The Bullet 650 is a retro styled bike, but as motorbikes get more and more high tech, there's curiosity as to how Royal Enfield will approach the Bullet 650's feature set. The Bullet 650 will feature a larger engine and almost certainly a higher price point than the current Bullet 500, which has built its reputation on simplicity and a back to basics riding experience, so there will be expectations for more advanced electronics. Yet while a number of riders want their mighty Bullets to pack modern safety features like ABS and traction control, others fear too much technology would detract from what Bullets are all about: pure riding. The question is also if including these features would simply set the price too high for Royal Enfield's target market. Striking the proper balance between retaining the Bullet's classic look and keeping up with modern safety and performance standards is thus a difficult feat for the maker.
God, I hope not. That’s what makes a Bullet so simple. It would ruin with a bunch of electronics.
At least ABS and traction control should be optional. The extra power means safety features are important.
They're going to keep it pretty basic, I bet. Dual channel ABS, maybe, but nothing beyond that. Gotta keep costs down.
Maybe it would be cool to have different riding modes for city and highway. It doesn't have to be fancy, just a way to change throttle response.
Instead of adding gimmicky electronic features they should be focused on improving build quality and reliability.
I would really like to see some modern touches like LED lighting and maybe a basic trip computer. It’s nothing too crazy, but a few conveniences would be nice.
Traction control on a Bullet? That's just wrong. It’s part of the fun in managing that torque yourself.
