What would you like to see if KTM brought back the 690 Duke in 2026?

In 2018 the KTM 690 Duke was discontinued, but the rumor mill and speculation about its return continue. In light of such improvements, a hypothetically revitalized 690 Duke can still find potential with all sorts of new features and yet retain the spirit of the original. This is a question that gets riders thinking about the ideal version of what it could be with a moern engine, electronics, chassis, and sheer riding experience. That opens up the opportunity to talk about how KTM could develop the single-cylinder platform to current market requirements while retaining the special character that made the 690 Duke so special.

How about a hybrid system? Get a single-cylinder engine; just add a small electric motor for low-speed smoothness and a power boost when requested.

I think it would be nice to see a bit of aero elements added, like small winglets. It will make it look more aggressive and modern and help high-speed stability.

Standard would be nice to have a bi-directional quickshifter. And a better seat, please, for the love of all that is holy.

I personally hope they keep it as raw and simple as they can. Maybe better fueling and we are done. Not all bikes have to be computers on wheels.

I’d also like to see a real TFT display with smartphone connectivity. Even when it was new, the old LCD looked dated.

Or a variant with wire-spoked wheels and more suspension travel? An awesome thing would be a sort of baby 690 Enduro R for light off-road use.

Sure, it is a modern electronics package. It would need cornering ABS, traction control, and multiple riding modes to bring it up to date.

What I would love to see is a more refined LC4 engine with better low-speed fueling and perhaps a little more power. Oh, and please keep it light!
