Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 comes currently in a petrol variant only. It comes with a 999 cc, 3-cylinder petrol motor producing 67 BHP. The car comes with the best in class power and Maruti Suzuki is planning to make a diesel variant of its younger sibling, the Alto 800. The engine that would be used on the car would the newly developed 2-cylinder 793 cc DDiS 125 engine from Maruti Suzuki Celerio. They plan to launch the vehicle by the end of 2015, making full chances of its announcement before the festive season. The Alto is the most selling car in India and with the introduction of a diesel engine to it would increase the sales significantly. Alto diesel would be delivering even more mileage than the Celerio diesel, which we expect to be around 28-30 kmpl.
