So is the Hyundai Venue's interior really as "premium" as people say?
It's been a hot topic among compact SUV enthusiasts about what the Venue's interior would look like. There are those who rave about its upscale feel compared with rivals, such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza or Tata Nexon. Is all hype though or does the Venue really deliver on interior quality and design that is above the rest? Now let's take a look at how the materials were chosen, where controls were located, and what the ambiance of it all was. Does that Venue’s interior last after prolonged usage, or do those “premium” touches begin to fade? But how does it stack up against slightly more expensive options in its segment? Let's see if the Venue’s interior deserves the praise it’s getting, or if it’s just a clever marketing tactic.
I honestly don't think the "premium" talk is overblown. Yes, it’s good value, but don’t get too excited, it’s still a budget compact SUV. The plastics aren't bad, but they're not luxury grade, or anything like that.
For the segment, I'd say it's pretty darn good. It is clean layout, and the silver accents and textured surfaces really add to it. It’s way more upscale than my old Maruti.
It's all relative, isn't it? Yeah, it’ll feel premium, compared to a 5 year old car. On its own, it doesn’t seem like much, but put it next to a Kia Seltos or even a higher trim Creta, and it doesn’t seem so fancy anymore. That’s good, but don’t get carried away.
I believe that people are confusing 'modern' with 'premium'. The Venue’s interior is certainly contemporary and well designed, but premium? That's stretching it. If you look closely, it’s still got plenty of hard plastics.
I've been owning a Venue for a year now, and I can tell you the interior has held up well, and still impresses me. Not luxury car level, but for the money, it definitely does punch above its weight. It’s also spot on ergonomics.
