So how does the Ioniq 6 compare with the Tesla Model 3 in real world use?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
As the Ioniq 6 fits in the same segment of the EV market as the Tesla Model 3, the cars are often compared. Spec sheets and reviews are important, but real life experiences can be very different. Albeit there are many cars in its league, it’s a good idea to highlight certain things such as comfort of daily driving, controls and user interface, charging experiences, build quality, and overall ownership satisfaction. But how do these two popular EVs compare when it comes to living with them on a day to day basis? Do you find any surprising advantages or disadvantages only after long use? Consider the practicality of ownership and the subjective things that make up the whole driving experience.

The Ioniq 6’s physical climate control and other buttons are a big plus. You don’t have to dig through menus while driving.

I've driven extensively and I'd say the Ioniq 6 is better built but the Tesla ecosystem (app, updates, etc) is hard to beat.

The Ioniq 6 is more comfortable for long trips than the Model 3 is, but the Model 3 is more fun to drive. It all really depends on what you want.

The Ioniq 6’s interior is my choice. The quality of materials is better and the extra instrument cluster is a great change.

The Tesla still wins on charging. It’s just so much more reliable and more user friendly.

But the Tesla's software, infotainment, is still miles ahead. Some might prefer it to feel more like a traditional car, however, and the Ioniq 6 does.

After using a Model 3, I switched to an Ioniq 6 and it's great. The build quality is significantly better and it’s much quieter on the road.
