Should Maruti Suzuki create a performance version of Ciaz?
Ashutosh 31 December 2024 07:45
The Ciaz has always been a family sedan which is comfortable and fuel efficient. But enthusiasts argue that Maruti Suzuki is missing out on a market by not offering a performance oriented variant. If such sporty Ciaz is some day hypothetically churned out, it could look sportier and have more power (think turbocharged) with a proper stiffened setup. Such a variant could help change perceptions about the Ciaz and attract a younger, more enthusiast oriented customer base, proponents suggest. It could even take on cars like the Skoda Slavia or Volkswagen Virtus in their higher powered variants. But critics contend that doing so would be expensive and may not fit Maruti Suzuki's brand image or the Ciaz's target customer base. But there's also the question of whether there's enough demand in the Indian market for a performance oriented midsize sedan to make an investment in this segment worthwhile.

Hell yeah! An awesome Ciaz Sport with a turbo engine. This could really shake up the segment and give VW group cars something to worry about.
