Is Yamaha FZ 10 still worth buying in 2025 or it is outdated?

Introduced in 2016, the Yamaha FZ-10, (aka the MT-10 in some markets), has been a popular naked sportbike. Now that we're nearing 2025, riders are discussing whether this model is still capable of standing up to newer competitors, or if it's starting to look like it's aged. Much of the discussion consists of the bike’s performance, technology features, and how it stacks up in terms of value proposition to more recent releases. For some it is still a formidable machine, its R1 derived engine and chassis, while others argue that newer models have more advanced electronics and more refined designs. The current relevance of FZ10 in the motorcycle market also depends on factors such as reliability, aftermarket support and the possibility of customization.

It's outdated, no question. It's behind the times in suspension, and I can't deal with the lack of cornering ABS. Now there are much better options out there.

It depends on what you are after, I think. Don't come here if you want the latest tech. If you want a raw, powerful naked bike that’s been proven reliable, the FZ 10 is still hard to beat.

It's aged well, the FZ-10 is like a fine wine. It's more reliable and easier to work on than some of the newer bikes because it doesn’t have complicated electronics. Sometimes simpler is better.

I can tell you as a current owner, you can still have a blast riding in 2025. It’s not the newest or greatest thing out there but every time I twist the throttle it puts a smile on my face. Right? That’s what matters, right?

It's a mixed bag. The bike’s core is still great, but they’re lagging on tech. If Yamaha would give it a proper update with a TFT dash and better electronics, it would be back on top.

It's a great value buy now, I'd say. It’s still a beast of a bike, and you can probably snag a used one for a steal. What do you need all those fancy rider aids for anyways?

Nope, it’s too long in the tooth now. The electronics are old, and you can get a lot more for the money with the newer bikes in the class. Time to move on, Yamaha.

Absolutely still worth it! The engine is timeless crossplane, the chassis is rock solid. Yes, it won't have the latest gizmos, but it has all you need to have a thrilling ride.
