Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Swift VXi (O) AMT is a solid choice for those seeking a blend of convenience, performance, and safety in the compact hatchback segment. While it may not excite enthusiasts with its 1.2L petrol engine, which produces 80.46 bhp and 111.7 Nm of torque, it is more than adequate for daily city driving and occasional highway trips. The AMT transmission, although not the smoothest, offers the convenience needed for urban commutes. The cars handling is enjoyable, with precise steering and good high-speed composure. However, the low-speed ride can be a bit jiggly due to the suspension tune and 15-inch wheels. The addition of six airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist, ABSEBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts makes it one of the safest options in its class. Despite some minor drawbacks like mediocre interior plastic quality and the lack of a CNG or diesel option, the Swift VXi (O) AMT remains a reliable and feature-packed vehicle.
Price
The Maruti Swift VXi (O) AMT is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price in New Delhi is approximately 8.02 lakh. When you factor in the additional costs such as RTO, insurance, and other miscellaneous charges, the on-road price comes to around 9.04 lakh. This pricing positions the Swift VXi (O) AMT closely with other variants in the segment, making it a viable option for those looking for a well-equipped and safe hatchback without breaking the bank. The EMI for this variant would be around 17,876 per month, making it accessible to a wide range of buyers. Overall, the pricing is reasonable considering the features and safety standards it offers.

The Maruti Swift VXi (O) AMT has been praised for its fuel efficiency, with an ARAI-certified mileage of 25.75 kmpl. This makes it a great option for city driving, where the convenience of an automatic transmission is a significant advantage. However, some users have noted that the AMT can feel jerky and slow at times. I think the trade-off between convenience and smoothness is worth it for many urban drivers.

I got my Swift ZXi in May, 2010 and now I have completed 40,000 kms on it. It has got a superb engine and driving it is a real joy. Yeah its steering get heavy at slow speeds but overall its fun to ride at high speeds. It supports ABS system that make my hill trips amazing as it perform really well. It never let me down on curvy roads and I just enjoyed every ride whether it is on city roads or highways. I am getting 14-15 kmpl average on city and 18-19 on highways. I am pretty satisfied with its performance. Inside the cabin, the company has provided comfy seats, Ac vents, spacious legroom and lots of spaces to keep important stuff. On the bad side, its boot space is bit short which creates problem when I have to go for long vacation with my family members.
