Is the Shotgun 650 too expensive for what it is?
At ?3.59 lakh to ?3.73 lakh (ex-showroom), the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is one of Royal Enfield’s most expensive models. At these prices, it lines up against a large number of motorcycles many of which have more advanced features or higher performance specs. The Shotgun 650 features a bobber style design, the proven 648cc parallel twin engine and a few premium bits like Showa suspension. That being said, it’s missing some features you might expect at this price point, like a full color TFT display, or riding modes. The fact that the bike is a factory custom bobber doesn't help its value proposition. The cool factor and exclusivity are important to potential buyers, but so are the practical features and performance an other bikes offer in this price range. The latter also involves thinking about the added expense for optional customization and accessories, which can bump up the price tag that much more.
Of course, it's pretty expensive for a Royal Enfield, but you are paying for the unique design and that cool factor. Whether that's worth it is up to you, and what you value in a bike.
I think it's overpriced. You could get a more powerful, and feature packed bike from another brand for that money. The bobber style is cool, but not worth the extra cash.
For what it is, it's fairly priced - a factory custom. It's good value because building a custom bobber yourself would cost way more.
It's also expensive, but not as expensive as most big brand bobbers. You also get Royal Enfield's improving reliability and dealer network. It is expensive, but not a ripoff.
It's only overpriced if you are comparing specs on paper. The style and experience is what Shotgun is all about and its harder to quantify. It’s worth every rupee for the right buyer.
I would say it is slightly overpriced. If you drop it by about 30-40k it’d be a sweet spot. It's kind of like paying extra for the bobber look.
With the base price not bad, it can get pretty expensive if you start adding customization options and accessories. You can easily spend a lot more than the sticker price.
It’s pricey for a Royal Enfield. Compared to other bobber style bikes on the market, it's actually quite competitive, though. It's all about perspective.
