Is the Maruti Futuro-e's futuristic design road ready for Indian roads?

Maruti Futuro-E concept was built in coupe like SUV body style with dramatic styling elements like a sloping roofline and large wheels. Yet, the futuristic design looks stunning, but there are concerns regarding how such a design would translate to real world use on Indian roads. Ground clearance, visibility, and durability become factors. The practicality conscious market may have issues with the concept's low slung profile and potentially constrained rear headroom. Moreover, maintaining and repairing such a one of a kind styled vehicle will be more expensive. On the flip side, a bold design could give Maruti an edge in what is a crowded SUV market and find favour with the younger buyers, scouting for something different. At the heart of the debate is whether Maruti should go for a look that will catch the eye or stick to the more conventional, utilitarian designs that are popular in the Indian market.

I think it's cool but those fancy curves and low profile are going to be a nightmare on our pothole filled roads. Speed bumps, good luck clearing.

Practicality is overrated. There should be more exciting designs on Indian roads. I'm all for something turning heads and making people smile.

It's a concept car, folks. It will be toned down for the production version, and be more practical. No one knows the Indian market better than Maruti and it won’t mess this up.

That sloping roofline worries me in terms of visibility. In our chaotic traffic conditions, safety should come before style.

Perhaps we should be asking for better roads, and not continuing to sacrifice car designs? Infrastructure improvements could be pushed by the Futuro-e.

Boring doesn't have to be practical. If Maruti can get the futuristic look to match with decent ground clearance and durability, it could be a game changer.

I would be more worried about the maintenance costs. Expensive repairs and hard to find parts often come with fancy designs.
