Being a simple car lacking many of the modern electronic features, the Mahindra Bolero Neo is something that many modern cars don’t have. This sets off a debate about whether such simplicity translates to better long term reliability. The fewer complex systems, it is argued, the fewer things that can go wrong leading to less maintenance costs and longer life of the vehicle. But others argue that modern features are well proven and that the Neo would be less reliable without them. The trade off between modern conveniences and traditional robustness is the subject of this question: Is the Neo’s approach outdated or is it smartly focused on what’s really important in tough conditions? It also looks at the larger automotive movement toward complexity and if there's still room in today's market for more simple, tough vehicles.

Absolutely! Less stuff to break means less gadgets. We've had Boleros for years and they just run on basic maintenance.
