Kia EV6 is often touted as an electric car for families. So how well does it really work in daily family life? We’ll look at interior space, storage capacity, how easy car seats go in, and family friendly features. Is the sleek design too practical? How does it handle school runs, grocery shopping and family road trips? We'll also look at the long term aspects of family use: durability of materials, ease of cleaning and so on. Does the EV6 offer a comparable or even a better experience for families moving away from an SUV or a minivan to an electric vehicle? In the remainder of the review, we’ll weigh the pros and cons of selecting the EV6 as your prime family car.

Now, our EV6 has been our main family car for a year or so, and it's been great. It’s surprisingly spacious in the back seat; we can fit two car seats. Not huge, but decent trunk space. No problem with our weekly Costco runs.

The EV6 is a mixed bag for family use, I find. The interior is spacious, but the angled roof is difficult to pile bulky things into. There’s also a missed opportunity for extra storage without a front trunk (frunk).

I have three kids, and I was skeptical, but the EV6 was more practical than I thought it would be. The back flat floor is great for kids and the materials look durable enough to survive spills and messes. My only complaint is that there is not much to see out the rear window.

We've had a fantastic family car. It’s good enough for what we need on a daily basis, and fast charging makes longer trips possible. I love the safety features and the kids love the panoramic roof. But the rear doors don't open quite as wide for easier car seat access.

I was worried I would not be happy stepping down from a minivan to the EV6, but it's been easy. Sure, it's not as cavernous, but it's still practical enough, and way more fun to drive. The biggest change was wrapping my mind around how to pack more efficiently for road trips.
