Is the extra money spent on the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc worth it?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Pulsar 150 has been a long running mass favorite in the 150cc segment. Some cosmetic and feature upgrades in the form of a rear disc brake, split seats and a sportier look were added to the Twin Disc variant that Bajaj introduced. But it is a premium over the standard single disc model. There remains much debate among riders as to whether these additions are worth the higher price tag when the core engine and performance are virtually unchanged. Some say the improved braking and styling are worth it while others dismiss the whole thing as marketing hype. The conversation often centers around the real world benefits vs perceived value of these upgrades, and how much they actually improve the riding experience for the average commuter or enthusiast.

It’s overkill for a 150cc bike, I think. But save the money and use it to buy a 200 or 250cc in the future if you want more performance.

It’s not just about the brakes. The twin disc has slightly updated suspension and better tires to boot. It's a more polished package.

I wish I had gotten the twin disc, honestly. It’s fine with the standard model, but every time I see a twin disc on the road I get a little jealous.

I'd say go for it. It looks more premium, and feels more premium, with the split seats and overall sportier look. On top of that, resale value tends to be better on the twin disc model.

That depends on how you ride. If you’re a casual commuter, the single disc is probably enough. If you do like to push your bike a bit, the twin disc setup is definitely noticeable though.

No, that’s just a marketing gimmick. The rear brake works fine with the single disc, and if you really need to you can always upgrade the rear brake later. Save your money.

Absolutely worth it. Braking in wet conditions in particular makes a huge difference with the rear disc. Riding in the city now, I feel much more confident.
