Is the additional cost for CVT over the AMT worth it for the Nissan Magnite?
Nissan Magnite is available with AMT and CVT transmission options, but the CVT is costlier. This dilemma especially confronts many budget buyers or those that are new to driving. The AMT is cheaper, but for jerky shifts, and the CVT is smoother, but at a higher cost. Driving comfort, fuel efficiency, and long term reliability are the factors at play. The price difference is justified, they say, by the CVT giving a superior driving experience, while others feel the AMT is adequate for city purposes. The debate doesn't end here, and the way these transmissions impact the car's overall driving dynamics (especially) in combination with its varying engine options, is also widely discussed.

I actually really wish I had gotten the CVT. After a while, the jerky shifts of the AMT get really annoying in stop and go traffic. If you're going to keep the car for a few years, the extra cost of the CVT is completely worth it.

If you can stretch your budget, I’d say go for the CVT. And resale value is not just about smooth driving. Typically, the used car market treats CVT models better than those with manual or automatic transmissions.

Depends on your driving. If you are mostly in the city, the AMT is fine. However, if you’re on highways frequently, the CVT is a game changer. Long drives are so much more relaxing and overtaking is much better handled.

Nah, stick with the AMT. It's cheaper and it gets the job done. You’ll also save a ton of money up front that you can spend on accessories, or just put in your pocket. Once you get used to it, the AMT's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Absolutely worth it! The CVT turns the Magnite from a basic commuter into a peppy little runabout. Yes, it’s more expensive, but in the long term the smooth acceleration and improved fuel efficiency make up for this.
