Is it worth paying more for the KTM 390 Adventure SW instead of sticking with the regular one?

The standard model does not have adjustable suspension, which the KTM 390 Adventure SW has. But this feature also pushes the price up considerably. For those who stick to the paved roads, many riders are debating whether the higher cost is worth the improved suspension. There are some who see the adjustability as giving greater versatility on different terrain and in different riding styles, while others see it as excess for the casual rider. It’s usually about the real-world benefits of the adjustable suspension in varying situations and if the average rider can actually take advantage of and enjoy the full potential of this feature.

The SW feels like a more premium bike overall, and as someone who's ridden both, I think it's a good bike. Just the cherry on top is the adjustable suspension.

I don’t think it’s worth what you pay for it. That extra money, you could then put towards aftermarket upgrades that would make a bigger difference to your riding experience.

If you’re planning to keep the bike for a while, the extra cost is worth it. This leaves you some wiggle room as a rider and allows for the bike to grow with you as your skills and tastes change.

Depending on how you ride, it depends. If you are just commuting and riding on the weekend on good roads, save your money. If you’re into adventure touring or just like to tackle varied terrains, the SW is the way to go.

I upgraded from the standard to the SW, and I can't believe I ever rode without adjustable suspension. This is a game changer for long ride comfort.

The standard model is more than enough for most riders, honestly. The SW is cool, but unless you really have a fascination with fine-tuning your ride, you may not even use the adjustable suspension that much.

Absolutely worth it! If you like to go back and forth between on-road and off-road riding, the adjustable suspension makes a huge difference. It’s like having two bikes in one.
