How does the Pulsar NS125 fare for longer weekend rides?

The Pulsar NS125 is frequently touted as a sporty urban commuter but many riders want to know if it can do better and head out on longer rides and weekend getaways. The subject of this topic is a source of discussion among the owners and potential buyers. Others praise the bike's comfortable seating position and responsive engine, arguing it’s perfect for long distance journeys. Some argue that its lack of wind protection and fuel tank are significantly smaller than that of purpose built options. Bike stability on the highway, fuel economy on long rides and how it rides with luggage are all debated by riders. They also discuss modifications or accessories that would make the NS125 more tour friendly.

The NS125 has been great, I've taken it on plenty of weekend rides. It's comfortable enough to sit in for a few hours at a stretch, and the engine has enough pep to take care of highway overtakes.

It works short trips, but I wouldn't want to do any serious touring on it. After a while the lack of wind protection becomes tiring and the small tank is tiring.

A couple of mods, and it’s a decent weekend tourer. I got a small windscreen and some soft luggage and the bike is transformed for longer rides.

I think it’s great for day trips or one night stays. If you go much longer than that you may start wishing you had something bigger and more comfortable.

Longer rides is where the NS125 really surprises me. Fuel economy is still quite good when you're pushing it, and it's more stable at highway speeds than you'd expect from a 125.

It’s not perfect, but it works. The trick is to take lots of breaks and not try to go too far in one day. The NS125 is also a great slow travel.

The NS125 is actually my bike of choice for weekend riding. It's light enough to be fun on twisty roads, and comfortable enough for a few hours highway cruising.
