How does the Bajaj Chetak Premium fare in monsoon conditions?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
India’s monsoon season is a particularly difficult time for electric vehicles, with worries that water could damage electrical parts. As Chetak Premium is a premium eco friendly electric scooter; it should do well in wet conditions. But how does it really work in the heavy rain? Is there any problem with water seepage or electrical malfunction? When thinking about purchasing a bike, consider water proofing, what grip it has on wet roads and how visible it will be in the rain. How does the range and performance of the scooter change in wet weather? Is it safe to ride and park the Chetak Premium during monsoons?

If Bajaj had included some waterproof cover for parking, I wish they would have. That would have been a nice touch for a premium scooter.

In monsoons, the build quality of the Chetak really stands out. It is solid and well sealed against water ingress.

I'm always paranoid about water damage so I try not to ride in heavy rain. It’s better safe than sorry with an expensive e scooter.

It is a lifesaver on the wet roads. The Chetak feels a lot more stable than my old petrol scooter.

I had one other problem once where water got into the display. It was annoying, so Bajaj fixed it under warranty.

In rain, the scooter handles well, but range drops by about 10-15% when really wet.

I've had my Chetak Premium out in some heavy downpours and it's been great. No electrical issues at all.
