Does the Honda XRE 300 have the chops for serious off-road riding, or is it a street-biased adventure bike?
Honda XRE 300 is known for its versatility, but everyone seems to have their own opinion on how capable it is off the road. It has some riders swearing it is their trail bike of choice, while others see it more as a comfortable commuter with light off-road potential. The bike looks to have some off-road prowess with a 21-inch front wheel and long-travel suspension. But its weight and street-oriented tires have given some pause over its suitability for more extreme off-road adventures. Riders argue the XRE 300 is up to the task of off-roading, or at least on gravel roads and light trails.
I've put my XRE 300 through some pretty gnarly single-track trails. With the right tires, it’s more capable than people give it credit for.
