Can two people ride comfortably on the Pulsar 125 Neon?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Most motorcycle owners in India have the need for two-up riding, or carrying a pillion passenger. Being an entry level bike, the Pulsar 125 Neon invites questions of its ability to comfortably and safely accommodate two riders. This is normally a contentious topic, as there will always be debates about how the much heavier bike will handle and how the suspension and seat will work. But some riders say the bike has trouble accelerating and has poor fuel efficiency with a passenger aboard, while others say it is adequate for short trips. The comfort level for the pillion rider is also discussed, specifically considering seat space, footpeg position and ride quality. For those that ride with a partner or family member frequently, this aspect of the bike’s performance is especially important and is a key part of the purchasing decision.

It really depends on the weight of your pillion, I have found. With my kid brother it’s ok. With an adult friend it is a little underpowered. Depending on your usual passenger, this is something to think about.

It's all about expectations. Well it does a decent job for a 125cc. It’s not as comfortable as a bigger bike, but it does the job for short rides around town.

It's used by my wife and I for our weekly market runs. It’s enough for both of us, but I wouldn’t want to do a long tour with a pillion on this bike.

I think it works better at two up riding than most 125cc bikes. The extra weight is handled pretty well by the suspension. Remember, though, that braking distance is reduced.

It's not bad! The pillion was definitely more comfortable on the split seat version. And riding double is just that, don't expect to break any speed records.

It is honestly a bit of struggle with two people. It takes a hit on the acceleration, and you really feel it on inclines. Good for emergencies, but not for regular two up riding.

For short city trips, I ride with my girlfriend, it’s fine. On shorter rides, the lack of power isn't an issue, but it’s noticeable on longer rides or highways. It's doable, but not ideal.
