I see it as a fun hobby. After a long week, I de stress by working on my Bullet. Keeping an old school bike running smoothly is satisfying.

Maintenance can be a bit much, especially if you’re not mechanically inclined. On the flip side though, parts are cheap and you can get them anywhere.

It's a mixed bag. There are days I love getting my hands dirty, days I wish I had a bike I could just hop on and ride without worrying about.

It teaches you patience and problem solving. It's like having an old temperamental dog and it's so frustrating sometimes but it's so rewarding.
Is there still a place for India’s evolving motorcycle market for the Bullet 350 ES?
07 January 2025 11:28
Absolutely! Indian motorcycles’ Bullet 350 ES is sort of the grandfather of Indian motorcycles. It might not have all the bells and whistles, but it’s got soul. But there will always be riders who will like that.

I think its days are numbered. Now the Bullet feels like a relic with so many great options available right now. Nostalgia is nice, but not practical for day to day use.

The niche of the Bullet is shrinking. It has to evolve, but retain its character. They should concentrate on making it more reliable, and adding a few modern touches.
Is there still a place for India’s evolving motorcycle market for the Bullet 350 ES?

It definitely still has a place. Not everyone wants a computer on wheels, however. Analog riding is getting rare these days, and the Bullet offers a pure, analog riding experience.
Is there still a place for India’s evolving motorcycle market for the Bullet 350 ES?

It's all about balance. The Bullet is the kind of bike that appeals to a certain type of rider, and that’s OK. It doesn’t need to be sport bike or ADV relevant.
Is there still a place for India’s evolving motorcycle market for the Bullet 350 ES?

I think that's more relevant than ever. With the complexity of bikes growing, the Bullet is a refreshing change. This is a palate cleanser for the soul.

The Bullet will stick around but might just turn into a weekend toy rather than a daily rider. It won't be practical, people will buy it for the experience.
Is the Bullet 350's single seat really impractical for most riders?
07 January 2025 11:25
I don’t love the single seat look but it’s not practical for my lifestyle. Because I ride with my girlfriend or need to carry stuff, I had to add a pillion seat. Function over form, I guess, kinda ruins the classic vibe, though.
Is the Bullet 350's single seat really impractical for most riders?
07 January 2025 11:25
What makes the Bullet a Bullet is the single seat. If you want practicality, buy a Splendor. That’s the whole point of owning a Bullet, after all, to be that classic, solo rider. It's not supposed to be a family hauler.
Is the Bullet 350's single seat really impractical for most riders?
07 January 2025 11:25
RE did a good job of balancing both options, I think. Easily add a pillion seat if needed, but you can get the classic single seat look. Best of both worlds, really. I wish the stock pillion seat was more comfortable, though.
Is the Bullet 350's single seat really impractical for most riders?
07 January 2025 11:25
Being a lone rider, the single seat is ideal. I got more space to move around and it looks badass. It’s also a great excuse when someone asks me for a ride and I don’t want to give one!
Is the Bullet 350's single seat really impractical for most riders?
07 January 2025 11:25
It might not be too practical, given the single seat, but that's half of the appeal. The Bullet was originally all about solo riding, and it forces you to embrace the solo riding experience. Other bikes for two up riding are available.
Has the new Bullet 350 lost its soul in the process of removing the kick starter?
07 January 2025 11:25
Good riddance to the kick starter, honestly. I don’t miss the arm workout every morning, but I love my Bullet. Especially in cold weather, the electric start is so much more reliable. Ride is the soul of the bike, not how you start it.
Has the new Bullet 350 lost its soul in the process of removing the kick starter?

The Bullet has ripped out the heart! The rite of passage, a connection to the machine, was the kick start. It's just another push button bike now. Next, it's automatic transmission.
Has the new Bullet 350 lost its soul in the process of removing the kick starter?
07 January 2025 11:25
At first I was skeptical, but after a few weeks with the new Bullet, I don’t miss the kick starter. The bike still has plenty of character, and I spend more time riding, and less time fiddling with starting it. It's a fair trade-off.

I do miss the satisfaction of a perfect kick start as one who learnt to ride on an old Bullet. Did I mention I love electric start, when you're in a hurry, or in traffic, the convenience is tough to stop.
