Real world fuel efficiency of Nissan Terra vs its competitors.

It's nowhere near what Nissan claims in the real world. In the city, I’m lucky if I get 8 km/l. Honestly, it’s disappointing.

I feel that the Terra is a good compromise. It’s not the most efficient in its class, but it’s far from the worst. With the space and comfort you obtain, the fuel consumption is reasonable.

It really depends on how aggressive you drive. It will drink fuel if you're heavy on the throttle. If you drive it sensibly it can be fairly economical for its size.
Will the Nissan Terra lose its value very fast, is this a concern for long term ownership?

Resale value wouldn't be something to lose sleep over. The Terra is a good solid SUV and if you take care of it, it should retain its value.
Will the Nissan Terra lose its value very fast, is this a concern for long term ownership?

The resale value is honestly a bit concerning. Nissan doesn’t have a reputation for reliability as well as Toyota, so I expect the Terra will depreciate faster than Fortuner.

I can’t say for sure yet, but I think the Terra will hold its value better than some people think it will. The SUV is a capable and comfortable one that is becoming popular.

When you buy a car, resale value shouldn't be your first concern. If it works for you and you like the Terra, then go for it. Don’t worry about selling it, enjoy the car.

So far, Terras are holding their value pretty well in the used market. They seem to be in good demand.
Will the Nissan Terra lose its value very fast, is this a concern for long term ownership?

It's not bad resale value, but the resale value may not be as strong as a Toyota. Also, you'll probably get a better price on a new Terra than you would on its rivals, which might make up for any depreciation difference.
Will the Nissan Terra lose its value very fast, is this a concern for long term ownership?
06 January 2025 09:44
I don’t really care about resale value, I’m going to keep my car forever. In the long run the Terra’s comfort and features make it worthwhile for me.
Will the Nissan Terra lose its value very fast, is this a concern for long term ownership?

I believe people overestimate how much resale value there is between brands. Toyota does hold value better, but the Terra isn’t going to be worthless in a few years.
Will the Nissan Terra’s spaciousness come at the cost of performance?
06 January 2025 09:44
Absolutely! I’m a family man and I’ll take space over speed any day. With all their gear, long trips with kids are a godsend in the Terra's roomy interior.
Will the Nissan Terra’s spaciousness come at the cost of performance?
06 January 2025 09:44
No way, performance matters. If your big SUV can't get out of its own way, what's the point? I would rather go for a Fortuner which has a bit more oomph.
Will the Nissan Terra’s spaciousness come at the cost of performance?
06 January 2025 09:44
Everything depends on your priorities. The Terra has the space for city driving and the occasional highway trip. However, if you’re usually fully loaded, or riding in hilly areas, the lack of power can be frustrating.
Will the Nissan Terra’s spaciousness come at the cost of performance?
06 January 2025 09:44
I think it’s a good balance. Not a race car, but not a slug. It’s a great space, and the performance is good enough for most uses.
Will the Nissan Terra’s spaciousness come at the cost of performance?
06 January 2025 09:44
It’s nice being spacious, but I wish there was a more powerful Nissan engine option. That would make the Terra a much more compelling package.
Is the Nissan Terra's off road ability as good as they say?
06 January 2025 09:44
As anyone who has taken the Terra out on some gnarly trails will attest, it’s surprisingly capable. It’s not a Jeep Wrangler, but it’ll get most people through most off road situations they’ll ever find themselves in.
Is the Nissan Terra's off road ability as good as they say?
06 January 2025 09:44
I don’t think the off road hype is real. Yes, it can go on a dirt road, but anything rougher and you'll be longing for a 'proper' 4x4.
Is the Nissan Terra's off road ability as good as they say?
06 January 2025 09:44
It’s good for light off roading but I wouldn’t push it to hard. Great for camping trips or getting to a remote beach, but not hardcore rock crawling.
Is the Nissan Terra's off road ability as good as they say?
06 January 2025 09:44
For most people, the Terra has more than enough off road capability. How many SUV owners actually do real off road driving?
