Is the GT R still a tuner’s dream in 2025, or are there better platforms?
06 January 2025 07:52
As a pure performance car the GT-R is still difficult to beat. I would probably go for something newer for a more balanced build though. These days, the GT-R is getting expensive to modify.
Is the GT R still a tuner’s dream in 2025, or are there better platforms?

It depends on your goals. If you are looking to build a 1000+ hp monster, the GT-R is still one of the best platforms to build on. For a more modest build however, there are better options that won’t break the bank.
Is the GT R still a tuner’s dream in 2025, or are there better platforms?

I still think the GT-R is a tuner’s dream, just in a different way. Now it’s more about refining and perfecting rather than chasing big power numbers. A well sorted GT-R is a special thing.
Is the GT R still a tuner’s dream in 2025, or are there better platforms?

If you want something proven, the GT-R is great, but it’s not as fun to tune anymore. Everyone's done it. I prefer to work on something newer and less common.
Is the GT R still a tuner’s dream in 2025, or are there better platforms?

The cost of entry is getting too high, but it's still an amazing platform. Now, you can get similar performance on cheaper cars without having to do as much modification. Today, the GT-R more so is a collector's item.
Has the time for the Nissan GT R come and gone in 2025 or is it still worth buying?
06 January 2025 07:52
Absolutely worth it! Though the GT R may be aging, it is still a beast on the track and attracts heads everywhere. There is nothing else that gives you that raw, mechanical feel anymore. It's a time machine for when cars were a little more analog.
Has the time for the Nissan GT R come and gone in 2025 or is it still worth buying?
06 January 2025 07:52
Nah, it's way overpriced now. For the same money you can buy a newer Porsche or Corvette that'll smoke it in performance and have way better tech. Ten years ago, GT-R was cool, but now it's just nostalgia.

What you’re after depends. Perhaps look elsewhere if you want the latest and greatest. If you like engineering and you want something different, the GT-R is still great. It has a huge aftermarket if you want to mod it, plus.
Has the time for the Nissan GT R come and gone in 2025 or is it still worth buying?
06 January 2025 07:52
I’d say it’s still worth it if you get a used one. The new GT Rs are just too expensive for what they are. Then pick up a 2-3 year old model and you'll save a ton and still have a great machine.
Has the time for the Nissan GT R come and gone in 2025 or is it still worth buying?

Certainly the GT-R is showing its age, but that's part of its charm. It’s one of the few remaining ‘old school’ supercars that doesn’t feel like a video game to drive. If you are willing to sacrifice some modern conveniences but want something with character, go for it.
Why does the GT-R have transmission clunks and noises? Feature or flaw?
06 January 2025 07:52
It's definitely a feature! Those noises are what the GT-R is telling you. That’s part of what makes the car feel alive and mechanical. I like to hear all those tiny clunks and whirrs.
Why does the GT-R have transmission clunks and noises? Feature or flaw?
06 January 2025 07:52
Nah, it's a flaw for sure. In the price you pay, the transmission should be as smooth as butter. This is just Nissan making excuses for not updating the car properly.
Why does the GT-R have transmission clunks and noises? Feature or flaw?
06 January 2025 07:52
I think it's a bit of both. The noises are part of the GT R's character, but they could've done a little more with it over the years. I can see why some people might find it annoying, but it doesn’t bother me.
Why does the GT-R have transmission clunks and noises? Feature or flaw?
06 January 2025 07:52
At first those noises drove me nuts as a daily driver. And then after a while, I came to appreciate them. The car is almost talking to you. If they’re gone, I’d miss them now.
Why does the GT-R have transmission clunks and noises? Feature or flaw?
06 January 2025 07:52
Only a problem if you’re expecting Lexus refinement. Those noises are just a reminder of the complex machinery underneath you, but the GT_R is a performance car first.
Why does the GT-R have transmission clunks and noises? Feature or flaw?
06 January 2025 07:52
I just think it's been blown out of proportion. It makes some noises and it's not like it's falling apart. That's just the GT-R experience. Embrace it!
Why does the GT-R have transmission clunks and noises? Feature or flaw?
06 January 2025 07:52
The jerkiness at low speeds is the real problem, the noises are fine. It’s hard to live with day-to-day because of that. That’s something Nissan should have sorted out years ago.
