How does the Magnite’s build quality fare over the long run?

I've had my Magnite over a year now and it's holding up pretty good. So far no major rattles or issues. The plastics aren’t premium, they aren’t falling apart, they’re just not great.

Mine's been a mixed bag. On the exterior it looks solid, but some interior bits have begun to wear faster than I'd like. But the touchscreen feels a bit flimsy too.

It depends, I guess, on how you treat it. But I'm pretty careful with mine, and mine's been great. Keeping these budget cars in good shape is as far as regular maintenance goes.

The build quality is all right but the paint easily chipped. That's a bit disappointing because otherwise the car is a good value proposition.

I've seen a few Magnites come through the shop as a mechanic. For the price, they're generally well built, but watch the suspension components as they appear to wear a little quicker on rough roads.

After 20,000 km no major issues here. The trick is to solve small problems before they become big. Overall, I’d say it’s worn as well as any car in its segment.

I have peace of mind with the 4 star rating. But it's not just about the stars, the Magnite's body structure did well in the crash tests too. In real accidents, that’s gotta count for something.

I'm skeptical. One thing is lab tests, and Indian roads are a whole other ballgame. A car with a lower GNCAP score, but with more airbags and advanced driver assists, I’d feel safer in.

Crash tests are a good baseline, but real world safety is about more than that. But the Magnite's higher ground clearance and good visibility are safety plusses not accounted for in the GNCAP score.

For me, I have been in a fender bender with my Magnite and it held up pretty well. The crumple zones worked and the cabin held together. I think the 4 star rating is legit.

I hate to knock the rating, but I wish Nissan would have had ESP standard across all variants and other active safety items. That would go a long way toward preventing accidents in the first place.

Well let’s be real, any car with 4 stars rating is going to be way safer than the average car on Indian roads. It's not perfect, but it's a massive step up in safety for budget car buyers.

I think these ratings are too important to people. Safety is just as important and just as hard to maintain as defensive driving. The Magnite's good, but not a force field.

It's a bit of a letdown in daily use, but it looks fancy. Responsive enough screen, the interface is clunky. I instead use my phone for navigation.

I actually like it! It’s not as slick as some premium cars, but for the money, it’s pretty good. And that's all I really need, the wireless Android Auto works great.

It's a mixed bag. The visibility is great on the large screen however software feels a bit dated. It works, but it’s not going to be as smooth as the Tesla.

I am not too tech savvy and find it easy enough to use. It’s nice to have physical buttons for volume and climate control, not everything has to be a touchscreen.

The glare on the screen is annoying in the sun, but it’s decent. The voice commands are hit or miss too. At least it has a touchscreen, though, unlike some of the competition.

It freezes occasionally, and I've had problems with that. It’s annoying when you’re trying to use navigation, but a quick restart fixes it. Nissan has to get on improving the software.
