I’m someone with back problems, and the higher seating position is genuinely useful. Lower cars are a lot harder to get in and out of.

It's a smart move by Maruti. Without actually making the Ignis an SUV or crossover, it gives the Ignis a unique selling point.

The high seating is nice, but there is a cost to headroom. Those taller might have to hunch a bit.

I applaud the effort to be different but I would rather have better handling than a slightly higher view.

In India, road conditions are unpredictable, so it’s useful. That extra height makes it easier for you to see potholes and obstacles.

I think that’s because the Ignis finds itself in a weird space in Maruti’s line up. The Swift is not as practical and the Baleno not as premium feeling.

The issue is that most folks in this price range want a 'normal' looking car. The Ignis just isn’t quirky enough for mass appeal.

It's all about perception. Many people view it as a small car with a big price, despite the fact that it gives a lot for the money.

The Ignis isn’t marketed as aggressively as Maruti’s other models. They seem to let it sell itself but in such a competitive market that doesn't do the trick.

Being in the Nexa lineup is a problem with the Ignis. Nexa is a premium car so people do not consider it when they are looking for a small hatchback.

I think test drives don't give it the credit it deserves. Most buyers make quick decisions, but the Ignis is a car that grows on you over time.

It's the classic case of a car being too far ahead of it's time. But the market is not yet ready for such a unique design in that segment.

It's surprisingly spacious! It really makes the most of interior room with its boxy design. For short trips I have no problem fitting four adults comfortably.

The back is pretty cramped, but the front seats are fine. It’s fine for kids, but adults will have a hard time on longer journeys.

People expect too much from such a small car, I think. Given its size, the Ignis does a great job in space management.

Legroom is definitely compromised, but the headroom is impressive. That’s just a trade off you have to accept when you get a car this small.

Being a tall person, I find the Ignis more comfortable than many larger models. It really makes a difference with the high roof.

It’s there, but it’s not being used well. Its shape is awkward, making it impractical.

The large windows and high seating positon make it feel spacious but in the end the dimensions are pretty tight.

It's more than enough room for a single person or a couple. The limitations are obvious, however, as soon as you try to use it as a family car.
